Each serving of Clear Collagen Professional contains 20,275 mg of collagen from various sources: type I hydrolysed collagen and type II collagen from ChondrActiv® hydrolysed cartilage powder.

The human body predominantly contains type I collagen. It is found in various types of tissues including the skin, tendons, bones and cartilages^a.

This product is a variation of our Clear Collagen product of our Beauty line further enhanced with biologically active ingredients, vitamins, minerals and amino acids, making it a more complex drink. The product contains 4 types of active ingredients:

The product contains amino acids like glycine, proline and lysine contributing to collagen formation as the prime building blocks of collagen^b. Similarly to these three amino acids vitamin C also contributes to normal collagen formation, and through this, to the maintenance of skin and blood vessels, the maintenance of normal bones, normal state and function of cartilages, and normal teeth and gums, that is why we added 180 mg of it to the formula. Vitamin C also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.^2,4

In addition of vitamin C, Clear Collagen Professional is enriched with 11 further vitamins and 3 different minerals, including organically sourced zinc and copper. The product also contains water- and fat-soluble vitamins. These active ingredients contribute to several processes of the human body:

• Vitamin A, biotin, zinc, niacin and riboflavin contribute to the maintenance of normal skin.^2,3,4
• Biotin, zinc and selenium contribute to the maintenance of normal hair.^2,4
• Zinc and selenium contribute to the maintenance of normal nails.^2,4
• Copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissues as well as normal hair and skin pigmentation.³
• Vitamins A, B6, B12, C and D, zinc, copper and selenium contribute to the normal function of the immune system.^2,3,4
• Zinc, vitamins C and E, copper and riboflavin contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.^2,3,4
• Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.⁴

The list of active ingredients also include hyaluronic acid, a high molecular mass polysaccharide (glycosaminoglycan) produced mainly by fibroblasts and other specialised connective tissue cells^c. Hyaluronic acid and collagen also have excellent water binding properties thanks to certain amino acid side chains.

The product formula also contains lutein extracted from calendula (Calendula Officinalis); a carotenoid, lutein is naturally present in food, particularly in leaf vegetables like spinach and Savoy cabbage^d. Last but not least, the formula contains chondroitin sulphate, a polysaccharide found in living organisms, for example in cartilage tissue.
